Le futur simple - avoir and être

Le futur simple verb root for the verb avoir is aur-.

And the root for être it is ser-.

The endings remain regular. So we have:

• je ⇒ j'aurai ('I will have') & je serai ('I will be')

• tu ⇒ tu auras ('you will have) & tu seras ('you will be')

• il & elle ⇒ il aura ('he will have) & il sera ('he will have)

• nous ⇒ nous aurons ('we will have) & nous serons ('we will have)

• vous ⇒ vous aurez ('you will have) & vous serez ('you will have)

• ils & elle ⇒ ils auront ('they will have) & ils seront ('they will have)

Examples:
	Il y aura trop de personnes sur le bateau. There will be too many people on the boat. avoir ⇒ au- + -a ⇒ il aura
	J'aurai besoin de me faire opérer. I will need to have an operation. avoir ⇒ au- + -ai ⇒ j'aurai opérer means 'to operate (medically)'
	Je crois que les enfants seront très heureux. I believe the children will be very happy. être ⇒ ser- + -ont ⇒ ils seront
	Bientôt, tu auras un jeune chaton à soigner. Soon you (familiar) will have a kitten to look after. avoir ⇒ au- + -as ⇒ tu auras chaton (f) means 'kitten' soigner (verb) means 'to look after' or 'to take care of' or 'to nurse'
	La semaine prochaine, nous serons en vacances. Next week we will be on vacation. être ⇒ ser- + -ons ⇒ nous serons
	Vous aurez sans doute soif après cette longue promenade. You (formal) will no doubt be thirsty after this long walk. être ⇒ ser- + -ez ⇒ vous serez
	Je serai plus prudent la prochaine fois. I will be more careful next time. être ⇒ ser- + -ai ⇒ je serai
